World of Warcraft: The Board Game aka WoW is one of the adventure board games played as indoor party games that got its inspiration from its MMORPG name-twin massively multiplayer online role playing game that is one of the most popular video games in the gaming world. Fantasy Flight Games is the company that designed and published it with many other popular games on board.
Players assume characters from either the Alliance or the Horde faction. They adventure across the continent of Lordaeron earning new experiences and learning new skills. The aim of the game is to defeat the mighty "Overlord".
There are 30 turns in the game and if the Overlord is not defeated in these 30 turns, a player versus player battle between the two factions decides the game. It's more a game of cooperation than a game of competition and the victory is earned collectively by all members of a faction.
The game is a huge and vast game with more than 1000 components included in it like tokens, cards, and figures.
Shadow of War and The Burning Crusade were the two expansions added to the game later after its first release. A third expansion Scions of Darkness was announced to be released, but later the announcement was withdrawn and no one knows what the company, i.e., Fantasy Flight is going to do with it now.
