Mario Party DS is one of the latest party video games for Nintendo DS console. It is the 12th game in the Mario Party series. The game was released in November 2007 almost all over the world barring Australia where it was released on 6th of December, 2007.

The party aspect of the game has been taken proper care of allowing four people to play wirelessly using one single game card only. The names of the characters to be played are Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Princess Daisy, Toad, Wario, and Waluigi.

A dice block numbered 1-10 is used to move the player according to its number. There are also many boards named Wiggler's Garden, Toadette's Music Room, DK's Stone Statue, Kamek's Library, and Bowser's Pinball Machine.
The game consists of quite a few minigames, their number being 74 to be exact; some of them using buttons, stylus or microphones to be played.
In Soccer Survival a Goomba kicks soccer balls and the players dodge them. In Short Fuse a fuse on a bomb is supposed to be blown in order to survive. In Globe Gunners players shoot projectiles at each other while running around on a globe.
There are three modes in the game - the Puzzle Mode, the Frenzy Mode and the Focus Mode - all having their own different conditions to play making the game much more interesting.

The plot revolves around the eight characters including Mario who all have been miniaturized by evil Bowser in his castle and thrown out. Now they all are to find Sky Crystals to restore themselves to their original size and defeat Bowser in his own wicked game.

Mario Party DS on Nintendo DS has been a big hit in the genre of party video games and is one of the bestselling games in the international markets at the moment.
